about
"Just Know It (Elsewhere Version)" is the reimagined iteration to the lush driven indie-folk track from Dan Mangan's Juno Award nominated, Polaris Music Prize Short Listed album 'Being Somewhere'. Dan's powerful words "Truth hurts and it always shows up dead last when the party's over / Wouldn’t you just know it?” are given new life as the minimalist piano track from the album have been laden with guitar and polyrhythms. Speaking of the track, Dan reflects, "When we reflect on the historical atrocities humans have thrust upon each other, we always ponder, "why didn’t anybody stop this before it got so bad?”. Then we apply the only logical conclusion we can muster - that with all this hindsight, we surely must know better now. But, of course, we do not know better now. Every time the dust settles, I want it to be crystal clear where I’ve stood."

Lyrics
Truth hurts, and it always shows up
Dead last when the party’s over
Wouldn’t you just know it
Two birds, and one stone
Once cast, once thrown
Well ya can’t un-throw it
You’re gonna wear me out
You’re gonna wear me out
I just know it
Time burns like an old home
It moves fast and kills slowly
Wouldn’t you just know it
Two birds, and one stone
Picked last, and sent home
Now ya can’t not throw it
You’re gonna wear me out
You’re gonna wear me out
I just know it
You’re gonna wear me out
I have wondered
Will I be swallowed?
Will I be wrestled?
You’re gonna wear me out
You’re gonna wear me out
I just know it
You’re gonna wear me out
